Automation for the Future 2008

Engineers are under increasing pressure to design with energy considerations in mind. Many automation technologies – some established, some emerging – are perfectly attuned to this approach.

Following a successful event in 2007, Eureka will repeat its ‘Automation for the Future’ Design Day – which includes a flavour of how energy efficiency can inform and improve automation design.

  • Variable speed drives can slash energy bills, but are still under-appreciated;
  • new Eff1 legislation has forced motor manufacturers to raise the efficiency of their products – offering new opportunities to design engineers.
  • At the same time, a host of technology advances – such as wireless networking and new communication protocols – are changing the face of automation by delivering faster, leaner, more intelligent systems.

Automation for the Future 2008 – which takes place in July 2008 – will highlight the latest techniques and technologies, using in-depth presentations and hands-on workshops – which feature problem-solving, design tips, case studies and the chance to ask specific questions of suppliers.

Design engineers will learn how to apply the most appropriate technologies to deliver energy efficient automation systems.
